THE FOREVER PART

from our first conversation until we said “I do”
each moment was a raging, burning fire with me and you
we figured this was love and we had it all

but just then I got to see you drop down on the couch
and blow your hair back off your cheek ‘cause we got the baby down

or curl up in the evening with a quilt and magazine
